In protest against the invasion of Russia (with the support of Belarus) on an independent and sovereign territory and the people of Ukraine, on March 1, 2022 Poland suspended scientific collaboration with the Russian Federation. Following the decision of the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, which suspends cooperation with Russian universities and research centers, submissions from authors with affiliation to institutions from the Russian Federation and also from the Republic of Belarus will be rejected.

36th M. Smoluchowski Symposium will be held in Kraków on September 24-28, 2023.

The scope of the Symposium will cover, i.a.:

  • Nonequilibrium systems with large fluctuations and strong correlations;
  • Stochastic and quantum thermodynamics;
  • Resetting mechanisms;
  • Fluctuation relations and large deviation theory;
  • Decoherence, chaos, and quantum-classical correspondence;
  • Diffusive processes and weak ergodicity breaking;
  • Fluctuation-dissipation relation in fluids, granular media, nano- and biological-systems;
  • Active matter, collective phenomena in living systems;
  • Nonlinear dynamics and turbulence;
  • Complex networks;
  • Simulations and modelling in polymer physics and soft matter;
  • New frontiers in contemporary statistical physics;
  • Interdisciplinary applications;
