Dear Colleagues,
We are happy to announce that 36th Marian Smoluchowski Symposium on Statistical Physics:
http://www.smoluchowski.if.uj.edu.pl/
will take place in its regular, stationary form on September 24-28 in Krakow, Poland.
The 36th Symposium continues tradition of former meetings focusing on foundations and applications of statistical physics with special attention to soft matter, nonequilibtium fluctuations and information processing.
The program of the 2023 Symposium is expected to cover among others:
- Information processing,
- Nonequilibrium systems with large fluctuations and strong correlations,
- Fluctuation relations and large deviation theory,
- Decoherence, chaos and quantum-classical correspondence,
- Diffusive processes and weak ergodicity breaking,
- Active matter, collective phenomena in living systems,
- Complex networks,
- Simulations and modeling in polymer physics and soft matter,
- New frontiers in contemporary statistical physics.
The tentative list of invited speakers includes:
- Francesco Caravelli (Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA)
- Juan Pablo Carbajal (Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, Rapperswil, Switzerland)
- Martin Evans (University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK)
- Aljaz Godec (Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Göttingen, Germany)
- Igor Sokolov (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany)
- Raul Toral (Campus Universitat de les Illes Balears, Palma (Illes Balears), Spain)
- Pierpaolo Vivo (King's College, London, UK)
