Nikola Kołodziejczyk /piano/

Nikola graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice: jazz piano tutored by Dr. Wojciech Niedziela and composition under Prof Edward Anthony Partyka. He authored eight jazz ensemble pieces, among others “Chord Nation” and “Barok Progresywny”. He plays in Stryjo - a trio devoted to improvised compositions: without sheet music, based solely on musical communication between musicians, and Vincent Veneman 10, Štěpánka Balcarová TUWIM, Michał Zaborski Quartet, Bartek Pieszka Quartet, Mateusz Pliniewicz Quartet, Aga Kiepuszewska FALA, Joanna Kucharczyk Quartet. He was also awarded two Fryderyk awards and several prizes for his work.
 

 

 

 

 

Mateusz Pliniewicz /violin/

Mateusz graduated from the Jazz Institute of the Academy of Music in Katowice and was tutored by Henryk Gembalski. He has performed with such bands as: Dean Brown Band, Bernard Maseli On the Road, Acoustic Acrobats, Klezzmates, Tangreen, Szeherezada, and Tryptyk Armiański. Currently he is the leader of the jazz quartet Warsztat Dźwięku, and a member of the free jazz quintet "Nóż w wodzie", which is a tribute to the music of Krzysztof Komeda, with his sounds supports bands performing music from the border of folk, rock, tango, and classics.
