2. Getting to the conference Venue/travelling in Cracow
GETTING TO KRAKÓW BY PLANE
John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice is located around 11 km west of the city center Krakow. There are also two airports in Warsaw: Warsaw Chopin Airport and Warsaw Modlin Airport (and then about 3 hours trip by train to Krakow).
Getting to the center of the city from Kraków Airport
BY TRAIN
The convenient connection from the John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice to the city center is provided by the train service leaving from the airport every 30 minutes, Kraków Airport – Kraków Main Train Station. You can check the timetable via jakdojade app. A single ticket costs 20 PLN and can be purchased using a ticket machine in the passenger terminal (level 0) or at the train station, or can be purchased from a train conductor on board. Payment with credit/debit card or in cash. More information can be found here.
BY BUS
Krakow Airport serves two bus lines: No. 209 and No. 300, but they will not take you directly to the city center. There is also a night line No. 902 with a direct connection to the city center. A single ticket costs about 6 PLN. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine at the passenger terminal or from the ticket machine at the bus stop. Payment with credit/debit card or in cash. The ticket must be validated when getting on the bus. More information can be found here.
BY TAXI
Krakow Airport Taxi is the only official taxi services at the airport. Taxi can be booked by phone +48 12 258 0 258, +48 668 307 307 or online. Call center is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (CET time zone). More information can be found here.
Taxi service in Kraków
Please use only big taxi companies, for example, iTaxi (+48 737 737 737), Radio Taxi Dwójki (+48 800 222 222), iCar (+48 12 653 5555).
UBER/BOLT services are available in Cracow.
Getting to the conference venue from the city center
BY TRAM
To get from the city center to conference venue take a tram (number 18, 52 or 17), direction "Czerwone Maki". Leave the tram at stop "Ruczaj".

Public Transport in Cracow
We recommend using jakdojade app for planning any trip by public transport (bus, tram, train).
3. Accommodation
We made a reservation of some rooms for the conference participants in two nearby hotels:
1) Hotel Convictus Cracovia (5 min walks from the conference venue). 250 PLN/night, breakfast included.
2) Vanilla Aparthotel (20 min walks/2 tram stops from the conference venue). 280 PLN/night, breakfast included.
Please directly contact the hotel if you want to book a room and mention that it is a LAMET2026 conference reservation.
The conference fee does not cover the accommodation cost.
4. Visa

5. Currency
National currency is Zloty (PLN). Exchange rate (Jan 2026): 1 USD=3.6 PLN, 1EUR=4.2 PLN. Foreign currencies can be easily exchanged in numerous currency exchanges offices in the downtown. ATMs can be found in all parts of the city. The logos of accepted cards are shown besides the machine.
